All the entries we judged were so creative & making our choices was difficult. The results are as follows & the final positions will be revealed at our Award Giving evening at Stratford Town Hall on the 28th September.
Broad Street The Cygnets Kindergarten
This was a wonderful project. The pupils harvested sunflowers, pumpkin seeds and beans. There was lots of very colourful planting with roses, the use of truck tyres, stones in water and milk bottle lanterns. Extremely creative!
Stratford Primary School
Extremely creative. A wild dandelion area, bug hotels, fir cone habitats and wellington boot planters. Plum & apple tree and herbs including basil and mint. The pupils were so enthusiastic!
Caring Kindergartens
This was a fantastic array of lots of sage, tomatoes, ox-eye daisies, wildflowers, raspberries, knapweed, squash, grass patterns, hawthorn and ivy! Very clever.
St Gregory’s
Year 6 students focused on a new pond project. They planted up some large pots with petunias and salvias in pale mauve. Together they made the area more attractive and very good for pollinators. The pond has a large collection of water lilies & irises. A home for wildlife and the pupils are hoping for the frogspawn to evolve into frogs. There were paths with painted stones and a very large spider!
